AC Milan's head coach Stefano Pioli has received a boost ahead of the first match against AS Roma in the Europa League.

According to Football-Italia, Milan's central defender Malick Thiaw has fully recovered from injury and returned to training with the team. On Wednesday, the defender participated in a full training session with the rest of the squad.

Thiaw had missed 74 days of training and competitions during the winter period, and two weeks ago, he experienced a heel problem during Milan's recent away victory over Fiorentina (2-1). Due to this injury, the German center-back was sidelined for Milan's recent Serie A match against Lecce (3-0).

The 22-year-old defender joined Milan from Schalke in 2022 for nearly 9 million euros. In the current season, the German international has appeared in 24 matches for AC Milan and provided one assist.

Earlier reports indicated that Milan had started negotiations with the talented midfielder regarding a new contract.
