Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Abel Mabaso has joined Durban Pioneers FC in the KwaZulu Natal ABC Motsepe League. The 33-year-old hopes to revive his career in South Africa’s 3rd tier.
Mabaso, without a club since leaving Richards Bay FC in July 2024, brings vast experience.
Durban Pioneers expect him to boost their push for promotion. The team’s currently 4th in Stream A, with 14 point from 9 matches. He has played for Chippa United, Ajax Cape Town and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mabaso helped his new team win the KZN Premier's Cup by playing in it. His abilities and leadership will be essential to their league aspirations.
On February 1, the Durban Pioneers go to King Edward Park Stadium to play Umvoti FC. At 15 o'clock, the game begins.
