Abdeslam Ouaddou: I only have one fear for Orlando Pirates players with Bafana Bafana at the Africa Cup of Nations

Abdeslam Ouaddou is having sleepless nights as the Africa Cup of Nations tournament gets underway.

The Orlando Pirates coach does not fear that his players may leave for European teams after the tournament.

His fear is also not having both the Afcon and festive recess kill their momentum as they are on top of the Betway Premiership standings.

"Of course, my only fear is the players from the national team. We hope they will all come back without any injuries," Ouaddou told Robert Marawa on MSW.

Pirates has eight players in Morocco for Bafana Bafana in Sipho Mbule, Sipho Chaine, Relebohile Mofokeng, Thalente Mbatha, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Evidence Makgopa, Tshepang Moremi and Oswin Appollis.

The above players have been impressive this season for the Sea Robbers and they have also been key in the team being atop of the PSL standings.

Ouaddou revealed though that as a club they have made all possible plans to keep their players fresh fitness during this break.

“I think you can be right. Sometimes, when you are in good momentum, and you have a long break, you can feel like you want to stop this dynamic, of course."

"But for us, with the staff, with the management of the club, we believe that if you manage to plan the training, the prioritisation for the next five months, you plan the things, I believe that you have less risk to have this sort of things happen.”
