A tough moment! Fox Sports presenter Mark Howard suffers head injury after Brett Lee's throw
Fox Sports presenter Mark Howard was left with a serious head injury after a throw from Australian cricketer Brett Lee during a match, according to The Sun. A piece of sporting equipment, struck by the ball, flew directly into Howard's forehead, causing a heavy bleeding wound.
The game was halted for 90 minutes to allow Howard to receive medical attention. He was stitched up and later allowed to return to the game.
"I’ve seen him hunched over and I thought, ‘geez, what’s happened?’ And I’ve realised the bail has flown through and impaled him right in the middle of the head. There was claret everywhere. He was bleeding pretty badly," Brett Lee recalled.
Howard, on the other hand, joked that he was proud of the scar he received from the encounter with Lee.
Brett Lee, a cricket legend, retired in 2012. Among his career achievements are two ICC Champions Trophy wins and a victory at the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup. He was recognized as one of the fastest bowlers in the world.
In addition to his cricket career, Lee is a member of the Australian rock band Six & Out, which also features his brother Shane and three other former cricketers.
