A tough choice. Barcelona torn between signing Rashford and Manchester City's talisman
A welcome headache for Hansi Flick.
Details: According to DiarioAS, Manchester City's 31-year-old attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva is on the verge of joining Barcelona as a free agent.
However, things aren't so straightforward for the Catalans. If Barcelona seals the deal with Silva, it will completely rule out the possibility of signing 28-year-old Marcus Rashford on a permanent basis. Currently, Rashford is on loan at Barcelona from Manchester United, but the club is unwilling to pay the full €30 million to buy out his contract.
Silva's departure from City this summer is inevitable, which means Barcelona could snap up the Portuguese playmaker for free. However, this move would put a significant strain on the wage bill, making a Rashford signing absolutely out of the question.
Reminder: Another marquee signing for Barcelona! The club prepares official bid for Julián Álvarez
