A top French club continues to work on appointing Roberto De Zerbi as their new manager
French club Marseille continues to work on appointing Roberto De Zerbi as head coach, reports Fabrizio Romano.
It is noted that there are no issues between Roberto De Zerbi and Olympique Marseille, with both parties making progress in negotiations.
Marseille's legal team is working on the formal steps, with lawyers handling the final contract formalities. All sides confirm no doubts regarding his appointment. The deal is expected to be announced officially soon.
Previously, it was reported that Marseille needs to pay Brighton €6 million, which is the agreed compensation De Zerbi negotiated with Brighton upon his departure.
Last season, Marseille finished only in eighth place in Ligue 1, with three different managers during the season: Marcelino García Toral, Gennaro Gattuso, and Jean-Louis Gasset.
Before Brighton, Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi managed Shakhtar Donetsk and Sassuolo.
