Gareth Southgate's team kicks off Euro 2024 with a match against Serbia tonight in Gelsenkirchen. It is reported that England players will receive a massive £14 million bonus if they break a 58-year streak of disappointment and win the European Championship this summer.
Three years ago, England came very close to winning their first Euro title but lost to Italy in a penalty shootout at Wembley. A victory in Germany would bring the country only its second major trophy in history.
But if the motivation of writing their names in history isn’t enough, according to The Sun, the players and the coach of the "Three Lions" will receive a £14 million bonus if they lift the trophy on July 14.
The English Football Association (FA) will receive around £24 million from UEFA if the team wins, with 14 million to be divided among the players and the coach as a bonus. Notably, Southgate will receive about £4 million, while the remaining £10 million will be divided among the players.
