A star's comeback? DeChambeau receives an unexpected offer after LIV Golf's collapse
Bryson DeChambeau could be preparing for a sensational new chapter after the collapse of LIV Golf! The two-time US Open champion has been offered a route to full playing privileges on the DP World Tour for 2027, potentially transforming his competitive future.
Details: According to The Telegraph, the 33-year-old American is eligible to claim full DP World Tour playing rights thanks to his victory at the 2024 US Open. The opportunity comes after LIV Golf confirmed on November 5 that it would wind down operations. DeChambeau has not publicly confirmed that he will accept the option or become a full member.

LIV Golf's collapse followed the withdrawal of financial support from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and the failure of a proposed $300 million rescue package involving BC Partners. The league had filed for bankruptcy protection in September and attempted to launch a restructured LIV 2.0 competition. Those plans have now been abandoned in favour of liquidation.
The DP World Tour offers DeChambeau a possible path back into regular elite competition. Under its rules, major champions have a limited window to secure membership, with 2027 representing his final opportunity through this route. Applications must be submitted by November 16. He is also scheduled to play the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa this December.
It's worth noting that DeChambeau's return to the PGA Tour remains complicated by restrictions affecting former LIV players. A successful DP World Tour campaign could eventually provide another qualification route. However, eligibility for the European circuit does not guarantee his participation, and his plans for 2027 remain unconfirmed.
