In the Matchday 17 fixture, Sevilla faced Real Madrid and suffered a 0:2 defeat. However, a few days after the match, another piece of bad news emerged.

Details: According to Marca, Sevilla defender Marcão got into an argument with referee Alejandro Muñiz Ruiz after being sent off. He not only protested aggressively against the official but also kicked the ball while it was already out of play.

The referee included all of these incidents in his official match report. Sevilla attempted to present their arguments, but the disciplinary committee ultimately sided with the referee.

As a result of these offences, Marcão has been handed a six-match suspension, meaning he will be sidelined for approximately one and a half months.

Sevilla currently sit tenth in La Liga with 20 points after 17 matches. Their next fixture will be against Levante, which is scheduled to take place in January.

Reminder: Real Madrid winger Vinícius Júnior responded to criticism from fans following the Matchday 17 La Liga clash against Sevilla.
