A replacement for Gyökeres and Isak? Arsenal begin negotiations for Šeško transfer
The absence of a true striker played a significant role in Arsenal's less-than-stellar finish this season. Now, the club’s executives are determined to address this issue decisively and have opened talks for high-caliber forwards.
Details: According to Florian Plettenberg, Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta recently met in London with his RB Leipzig counterpart, Marcel Schäfer, to discuss the transfer of the “Red Bulls” striker Benjamin Šeško.
Discussions are currently centered around the payment structure for the Slovenian frontman. It remains unclear whether Arsenal can pay the €80 million release clause up front, so the parties may consider splitting the sum into several installments. Meanwhile, Sporting’s Viktor Gyökeres remains high on Arsenal’s shortlist, but for now, the primary focus is on Šeško.
Reminder: Earlier reports indicated that the London club’s management is close to extending the contract of their central defender Gabriel Magalhães, having offered him a five-year deal.
