Last night's clash between the Washington Wizards and the Oklahoma City Thunder will be remembered by fans not for the basketball, but for a colossal scandal.
Details: The main protagonist of the episode—Wizards player Justin Champagnie—decided to end the game early, but did it WWE-style. Losing his cool in one moment, he triggered a massive brawl that instantly turned the court into chaos. The referees handed Champagnie a well-deserved ejection, but that was just the beginning of the "show."
Along with the instigator, the referees had to eject three Oklahoma players from the court. Jaylin Williams, Ajay Mitchell, and Cason Wallace were also disqualified for the rest of the game for their active roles in the melee.
The level of madness was off the charts: during the altercation, players actually knocked over a cameraman working at the edge of the court. The fall shattered an expensive camera, and the TV operator himself was sent tumbling along with all his equipment.
Reminder: 127 consecutive games with 20 or more points! Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has broken Wilt Chamberlain's "eternal" record.
