This week, Turkey was rocked by a sexual scandal involving 24-year-old referee Elif Karaarslan, who allegedly accidentally streamed a sex video with 61-year-old Turkish Football Federation official Orhan Erdemir on her Instagram live.
However, the referee has since made her first public statement, declaring that the video is fake and that she will fight to protect her honor.

Quote: "I have a long legal battle ahead, but I will face it with the utmost determination. I hope for your support and love during this process. Crying, screaming, and feeling sad—that's not who I am. I will defend my case to the very end. I am just one of many who have been wronged, and I hope to be the last.
There is a sex video that they are trying to associate with me, but it has nothing to do with me, and the image quality is extremely poor.
I am not the person appearing in the video, and the fact that I am facing such a serious accusation is an attack on a woman's honor", Marca quotes her as saying.
Added: Karaarslan's lawyer, in a statement, claimed that the sex video was created with "malicious intent" using artificial intelligence:
"A manipulated video was published on social media, which was not the original and was entirely created by artificial intelligence from another social media account, and it has no connection to the client. Upon reviewing the video, it is clear that the image is blurry and parts of the interactions were fully edited on a computer."
