A major scandal has erupted in Turkish football, with 24-year-old referee Elif Karaarslan at the center of the controversy. Karaarslan, who officiated men's matches, has found herself in the spotlight for the wrong reasons.

Details: During a live broadcast on her Instagram account, she accidentally streamed a video of her engaging in sexual activity with Orhan Erdemir, a 61-year-old official from the Turkish Football Federation.

Erdemir worked specifically within the referees' committee and served as an observer, which gave him the ability to influence the assignments of Karaarslan's matches.

The Turkish Football Federation's disciplinary committee is now calling for both individuals to receive lifetime bans.

Karaarslan has denied any wrongdoing, but it seems unlikely that this will help her case.
