A new striker for Old Trafford? Manchester United preparing €45 million bid for La Liga star
English giants Manchester United are seriously considering a move for Real Betis’ Irish striker Troy Parrott during the upcoming winter transfer window.
Details: The Mancunians are preparing a comprehensive offer worth up to €45 million, including a fixed base fee and substantial performance-related bonuses. The Old Trafford hierarchy sees the 24-year-old forward as the ideal addition to their attack: the player cost the Spanish club approximately €20 million and has quickly established himself as the key spearhead of the Seville side’s forward line.
However, completing the transfer midway through the season will be extremely difficult due to the firm stance of the green-and-whites’ manager, Manuel Pellegrini. The Chilean coach intends to keep the Irishman at the club at least until June, firmly convinced that the striker’s continued progress will drive his price even higher.
It is worth noting that Troy Parrott began his senior career in Tottenham’s academy, while his prolific form in Spain’s La Liga has helped him cement his status as the Republic of Ireland national team’s leading goalscorer.
