Details: The experienced Bosnian striker Edin Džeko will continue his career at Schalke. According to Florian Plettenberg, the 40-year-old forward has fully agreed terms with Schalke 04, and the deal is now in its final stages of completion.
All key details have already been settled. This coming Sunday and Monday, Džeko will receive clearance for his medical examination, after which he'll put pen to paper on a contract running until the summer of 2027.
It's reported that the main driving force behind Džeko's new contract was Schalke head coach Miron Muslic, who personally insisted on keeping the veteran goalscorer on the roster. The coach is convinced that Džeko's leadership, vast international experience, and clinical finishing will be vital for the team's success in the upcoming Bundesliga campaign.
For the forward himself, this marks yet another challenge in a storied career spanning top European leagues. Despite his age, Džeko remains a sought-after striker, and Schalke are counting on his experience to be decisive in their pursuit of top positions.
