Today’s matchday delivered one of the most sensational upsets in women’s tennis.

Details: In the first round (1/64 finals) of Wimbledon, Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, ranked 116th in the world, faced off against American Jessica Pegula, one of the top three players globally.

The outcome seemed a foregone conclusion, but the Italian had other ideas—pulling off a stunning upset that sent shockwaves through the tennis world, winning 2-0. Pegula was swept aside by her 24-year-old opponent with little chance to respond: the first set ended 6-2, and the second was just as convincing at 6-3.

This is far from the first shocker at this year’s Wimbledon, but in the women’s draw, it stands out as the biggest upset so far.

In the round of 32, Elisabetta Cocciaretto will face the winner of the match between Katie Volynets and Tatjana Maria.

Reminder: South Africa’s No. 1, Harris, pulled off a Wimbledon stunner, knocking out the ATP’s 50th-ranked player.
