A key Bayern Munich midfielder will not be transferring to Barcelona

Barcelona sought to sign Bayern Munich's key midfielder, Joshua Kimmich, who was wanted by the incoming Barcelona coach, Hansi Flick.

However, according to Sport.es, all negotiations between the parties have reached a deadlock. The primary reason is Kimmich's high financial demands. Reports indicate that the German midfielder earns 19.5 million euros, a figure that Barcelona would struggle to match.

In the 2023/24 campaign, Kimmich played 43 matches for Bayern, scoring 2 goals and providing 10 assists. The reputable German portal Transfermarkt values the player at 60 million euros. The 29-year-old midfielder's contract with Bayern runs until the summer of 2025.

Earlier reports suggested that Barcelona aims to entice a midfielder from Liverpool into its coaching staff.
