A Juventus legend might make a comeback to Serie A. Roma is interested in the player
Roma is contemplating the possibility of signing veteran Italian footballer Leonardo Bonucci during the winter transfer window.
The Giallorossi are seeking to reinforce their defensive line due to the current circumstances. The team's primary center-back, Chris Smalling, is injured, while Evan Ndicka will be departing for the African Cup of Nations in the winter.
In addition to Bonucci, the Wolves are considering reinforcements like Artur Theate (Rennes), Pablo Mari (Monza), Thiago Pinto (Rio Ave), and Umaro Embalo (RB Salzburg).
At 36, Bonucci currently plays for Union Berlin and is most notably recognized for his tenure at Juventus, where he appeared twice. With the Old Lady, the defender participated in 502 matches across all competitions (scoring 37 goals) and secured numerous trophies in Italy.
In September, the Italian became a Union Berlin player, signing a contract until the end of the season. He has played nine matches across all competitions for his new team, scoring one goal.
Roma currently holds the eighth position in the Serie A standings after 16 matches played.
