Chelsea’s hierarchy are growing increasingly confident that the club will be able to complete the signing of 23-year-old Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott during the winter transfer window.

Details: According to renowned football insider Ben Jacobs, the Blues are actively preparing for the decisive phase of talks with the south-coast club. However, the potential transfer would cost the aristocrats a record fee: the Cherries value their key creator at more than £100 million and have no intention of lowering their demands midway through the season.

The Londoners showed serious interest in the midfielder last summer, but the Cherries rejected all preliminary inquiries at the time. Stamford Bridge are hoping that their willingness to offer a substantial structured package including bonuses will convince Bournemouth’s hierarchy to green-light the Englishman’s move to the capital giants.

It is worth noting that Alex Scott joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in the summer of 2023 for £25 million. Since establishing himself at the highest level, the young midfielder has emerged as one of the most versatile, physically robust and intelligent midfielders in the English Premier League, consistently attracting the attention of the England national team coaching staff.
