A hint or pure coincidence? Raphinha's celebration sends Barcelona fans into a frenzy
One gesture from Raphinha was enough to set social media ablaze.
Details: According to The Sun, Raphinha sparked a real frenzy with his Spider-Man celebration in Barcelona's victory over Elche. Fans instantly linked the gesture to Julián Álvarez, whose nickname is La Araña and who remains the Catalan club's number one transfer target this summer.
The reigning champions kicked off their La Liga title defence in style, thrashing Elche 5-0 away from home. Raphinha netted a brace, Fermín López also scored twice, and debutant Anthony Gordon registered two assists. Curiously, on that very same day, Atlético Madrid fans booed Álvarez, which only added fuel to the conspiracy theories about the Brazilian's celebration.
However, Raphinha himself was quick to cool down the speculation, explaining that the gesture was dedicated to his son and had nothing to do with the transfer saga. It's worth noting that the Brazilian, who captained Barcelona in the match, has now opened his goal account for the season with two goals in the very first round.
Reminder: Barcelona paid tribute to Kobe Bryant with special kit in match against Elche.
