A great return on the horizon. Mauricio Pochettino could leave the US national team right now to take over Tottenham
London’s Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of pulling off the most emotional and eagerly awaited comeback of the decade.
Details: According to Football.London, Mauricio Pochettino is seriously considering stepping down early as head coach of the US national team in order to make an immediate return to the Spurs’ dugout.
The situation at the club has reached a critical point: after the dismissal of Thomas Frank and a string of inconsistent results under interim boss Igor Tudor, Tottenham find themselves perilously close to the relegation zone, sitting just 17th in the table.
It’s worth noting that the pressure on the club’s board from supporters is mounting by the day. Fans in the stands are increasingly chanting the name of the Argentine, who famously led the club to the Champions League final in 2019.
For the record: Tottenham could appoint Cristian Romero as player-manager.
