Reigning Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen sensationally came off the track during the Australian Grand Prix.

The Dutch driver spent only three laps on the track. After that, because of the fire in the rear of the car Verstappen was forced to skip ahead of the entire peloton, drive into the box and no longer return to the track.

Preliminary problems at the racer occurred with the brakes.

Because of this crash cut short several series for Verstappen. Firstly, Max for the first time since the Grand Prix of Australia 2022 prematurely ended the race. Secondly, the driver was unable to win his tenth consecutive victory. Thirdly, the Dutchman did not break Lewis Hamilton's record for consecutive completed races - today should have been 44th, and the record holder Hamilton has 48.

We should add that this failure will not affect the position of Max Verstappen in the overall standings: the pilot Red Bull will retain the leadership after the Grand Prix of Australia under any circumstances.
