"A great battle". Harry Kane has shared his expectations of facing van Dijk in the Euro semi-finals

England striker Harry Kane shared his expectations for the upcoming match against the Netherlands in the semi-finals of Euro 2024.

Kane specifically mentioned the challenge of facing Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.

"The Dutch have shown throughout the tournament that they can be very dangerous, especially in attack. We need to prepare well. We have to put in maximum effort if we want to progress. I say this every time. This match is no different from the others.

Van Dijk? He's a very good defender, he's been considered one of the best defenders in the world for a long time. He plays consistently well over the years. It's always tough against players like him. We're in for a great battle. There are many good duels in this tournament.

We deserve this semi-final. We've worked hard to get here, and now we can achieve something special on a big stage in front of our fans. We're in for an incredible game. One of the best stadiums in the world. A semi-final of a major tournament is one of the most important matches in world football. I'm looking forward to it with great anticipation," Kane told UEFA.

The match between England and the Netherlands will take place today, July 10, and will start at 21:00 Central European Time.

The winner of this match will face Spain in the final, who defeated France 2-1.
