Former New York Giants football player Corey Cunningham was found dead in his home in New Jersey, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Police stated that the 28-year-old athlete died by suicide. The Giants have already released a statement regarding his passing.

"We are saddened to learn of the death of Corey Cunningham. He was an integral part of the spirit and camaraderie in the locker room. Our thoughts are with Corey's family, friends, and teammates," the club wrote.

Corey Cunningham was a running back in American football. He played in college for Cincinnati and was selected in the seventh round of the 2018 draft by the Arizona Cardinals. Additionally, he played in the NFL for the New England Patriots and the New York Giants from 2018 to 2022.

It's worth noting that former NFL player O.J. Simpson passed away at the age of 76. His family officially announced his death, citing prostate cancer as the cause.
