Former NFL football player O.J. Simpson passed away at the age of 76. This was officially announced by the athlete's family.

The cause of Simpson's death was prostate cancer.

As a football player, O.J. Simpson played for the Buffalo Bills and the San Francisco 49ers. He became the first player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a single season.

After his professional career, O.J. Simpson pursued acting. He gained the most recognition for his role in the "Naked Gun" film series.

In 1994, Simpson was accused of the murder of his ex-wife and her lover. Due to extensive media coverage, this legal case became one of the most famous in U.S. history. He was acquitted in 1995.

However, in October 2008, Simpson was imprisoned for robbery and kidnapping three individuals. It is known that in 2007, he and a friend broke into a hotel where a memorabilia dealer was staying and forcefully took back items that had previously belonged to him.

In 2017, the former athlete was released on parole.
