A former player of Chelsea and Man United will leave Rennes with scandal and could end his career

The 35-year-old Serbian midfielder, Nemanja Matic, is on the verge of parting ways with Rennes. Last summer, the seasoned playmaker moved to the Breton club from AS Roma, signing a two-year contract.

However, Matic has not acclimated well to life at Rennes, and currently, the likelihood of him making further appearances for the French club is close to negligible. On Tuesday, the Serbian did not appear for the club's training session, having previously retrieved his personal belongings from the locker in the training center. Allegedly, Matic is dismayed because his children cannot attend school in the area, and he has also struggled to integrate into the team.

Reports suggest that on Wednesday, Matic left with his family and has no intention of returning.

According to sources, Matic has verbally agreed to terms with Lyon. However, Rennes' management is displeased with the player's approach. It is not ruled out that if Matic fails to reach an agreement for the termination of his contract, he might be forced to conclude his playing career.

In the past, Matic has played for English clubs Chelsea and Manchester United.
