Newcastle United have addressed a critical gap on the defensive flank, completing a highly anticipated signing just ahead of the new Premier League season.

Details: The English club officially announced the acquisition of Bosnia and Herzegovina international right-back Amar Dedić from Benfica. The 24-year-old has inked a long-term deal running for five years, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2031. According to reputable outlet Sky Sports News, the transfer fee is set at £29.5 million.

This Bosnian signing marks the first transfer under Newcastle’s new head coach Matthias Jaissle, who knows the defender well from their time together at Red Bull Salzburg. The need to strengthen the right side of defense arose after Kieran Trippier’s move to Wolverhampton and a serious injury to Tino Livramento.
