A day in history: Greatness etched in history! Exactly 20 years ago, the Bernabéu gave Barcelona a standing ovation after a complete demolition

One of the brightest chapters in the entire history of El Clásico.

Details: On November 19, 2005, the Santiago Bernabéu hosted one of the most spectacular and unforgettable El Clásico matches ever.

That night, 80,000 fans packed the Santiago Bernabéu, but for the Galácticos, they became the harshest critics once the final whistle blew.

As soon as referee Eduardo Iturralde González blew for kickoff, the Bernabéu stands trembled from the roar of the crowd, and both teams launched into an uncompromising battle on the pitch.

Despite the passionate support and Real’s attempts to take the initiative, they were immediately met by Barcelona’s razor-sharp attack, with Eto'o, Messi, and Ronaldinho forcing the Bernabéu to hold its breath as early as the 15th minute.

Samuel Eto'o, assisted by Leo Messi, stunned Iker Casillas and forced him to pick the ball out of his own net.

What happened next left an indelible mark on football history.

The middle of the match was tense and evenly matched, with chances at both ends, but in the 60th minute Ronaldinho began his goal-scoring spectacle at the Bernabéu. Roberto Carlos, Sergio Ramos, Salgado, and Helguera could do nothing to stop the Brazilian magician, and by the 77th minute Ronaldinho had scored a brace, sealing a total rout of Real Madrid on their own turf.

After the match, the entire Santiago Bernabéu rose to applaud Ronaldinho and Barcelona, and we witnessed a game that would forever belong in football’s golden collection.
