Barcelona has officially announced plans to install a statue in honor of Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou stadium.
Details: Barcelona president Joan Laporta stated that legendary forward Lionel Messi deserves his own statue at the renovated Camp Nou.
"Lionel Messi deserves to have his statue at the new stadium. We are already preparing the project, will discuss the details with his family, and if they approve the idea – we will begin implementation," Laporta said.
Messi wore Barcelona's colors from 2004 to 2021 and remains the club's all-time top scorer, netting 672 goals in 778 matches.
