A club from Championships repeats an extraordinary anti-record for English teams

Championship club Sheffield Wednesday has matched an unusual and unfortunate record for English clubs.

Sheffield Wednesday became the first team from the top four divisions of English football to start their league season with a victory by a margin of 4+ goals (4-0 against Plymouth) and then lose their second game by a margin of 4+ goals (0-4 against Sunderland) since the 2010/11 season.

Back then, Blackpool began their Premier League campaign with a 4-0 victory against Wigan, only to suffer a 0-6 defeat to Arsenal in their following match.

After two rounds of the Championship, Wednesday sits in ninth place in the standings with three points and a goal difference of 4:4.
