The Bundesliga team Werder Bremen has announced the disqualification of their player Naby Keïta on the club's website.

Additionally, the midfielder has been fined heavily. The 28-year-old player will no longer train with the team or be part of the first team's dressing room. It is worth noting that Keita's punishment stems from his refusal to board the team bus and travel to an away match against Bayer after learning that he would not be playing in that match.

Recall that on August 29, 2017, Liverpool officially announced the acquisition of Keita. In the 2017/2018 season, the player continued to play for Leipzig, and he moved to the English club on July 1, 2018. Liverpool exercised the option in Keita's contract, which allowed them to buy out the player's contract for £48 million.

Naby Keïta joined Werder last summer as a free agent. In the current season, he has participated in five Bundesliga matches and has played a total of only 107 minutes on the field.

By the way, Bayer Leverkusen spectacularly defeated Werder Bremen (5-0) in the 29th round of the Bundesliga, securing the German championship prematurely. It's a historic first for the club.
