A blow for Algeria
Anthony Mandrea will not be playing in the World Cup with Les Fennecs.
Vladimir Petković will not be able to count on his goalkeeper for the national team. The Algerian international sustained an injury during training with his club, Caen, around ten days ago. However, his situation appears serious, and he will not be able to return to action any time soon.
Anthony Mandrea is set to undergo shoulder surgery. Consequently, he will be unable to take part in the World Cup with the Algerian national team this summer. The goalkeeper is officially ruled out of the tournament.
This situation forces Algeria’s manager, Vladimir Petković, to rethink his plans. He will need to find a solution before the competition kicks off next June in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
