In the early hours of Sunday, the US national team played a friendly against Turkey.

Details: The hosts started aggressively and scored in the very first minute: Jack McGlynn cut inside from the wing and fired a precise shot from the edge of the penalty area past Ozer. That would be the last real threat to Turkey's goal in the first half.

Although the US maintained possession, they failed to turn it into any meaningful chances.

Turkey, relentless with their pressing, eventually forced a mistake from their opponents: in the 24th minute, Cardoso made an error inside his own box while attempting a pass, gifting Guler a comical goal – 1-1.

The Turkish pressure continued and, amid chaos in the hosts' box, Akturkoglu pounced on a rebound and finished with a first-time strike – 1-2.

Throughout the first half, Turkey controlled the tempo, creating several more promising opportunities but failing to extend their lead.

After the break, the visitors dropped deeper, allowing the US to push forward. The clearest chance for the hosts came in the 61st minute: after a prolonged attack, Malik Tillman connected with a cross from the flank and powered a close-range header – but Berke Ozer was alert and safely gathered the ball.

Turkey's 2-1 victory marks the third straight defeat for the Americans: in March, Canada beat the US 2-1 at home, while Panama snatched a 1-0 away win in the dying moments.

The US will next face Switzerland on June 11, with kickoff set for 02:00.
