In just a few days, the 2024 Olympic Games will commence in Paris. Currently, the traditional Olympic torch relay is taking place in the French capital.

An incredible story unfolded during this famous relay. The flame was carried through the streets of Paris by French tennis player Kévin Piette. At the age of 11, he was stricken with paralysis and lost the ability to walk. However, he managed to carry the flame in a robotic exoskeleton, thus making history.

This marks the first instance of a self-balancing personal exoskeleton participating in the Olympic torch relay.

Powered by a battery, the exoskeleton supports the user's legs, enabling them to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and navigate unfamiliar terrain. Sensors on the back detect when the user intends to walk or stand, while a handheld controller allows for direction and speed adjustments.

Additionally, the renowned American rapper Snoop Dogg will be among the torchbearers carrying the Olympic flame during the final stage before the opening ceremony of the Games in Paris on Friday.
