£70M Valuation: Man United Target Semenyo as Firepower Boost
According to reports, Manchester United is leading the race for Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo. Manager Ruben Amorim is eager to bolster his front line with more firepower before the 2025–2026 season begins.
According to Sky Sports, the 25-year-old Bournemouth star has caught the eye of United scouts after an impressive 2024/25 season, where he’s racked up 11 goals across all competitions.
Amorim’s Key Target
Known for his pace, power, and versatility, Semenyo is capable of playing across the front three, making him a natural fit for Amorim’s high-intensity system.
Bournemouth have reportedly slapped a £70 million valuation on the Ghana international, but there is room for negotiation, with the Cherries open to a structured deal including performance-based add-ons—similar to last summer’s Dominic Solanke move to Spurs.
Transfers Depend on Outgoings
United’s ability to finance the deal will largely hinge on player sales, with three high-profile names on the table:
- Jadon Sancho (loan at Chelsea): £25M option or £5M penalty to cancel
- Antony (loan at Real Betis): Betis interested, deal depends on finances
- Marcus Rashford (loan at Aston Villa): £40M option, decision pending
Selling two of the trio could open the door for Semenyo’s arrival at Old Trafford.
Premier League Rivals Circle
Despite United’s lead, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are also tracking the player.
- Liverpool aim to refresh their attack.
- Spurs, under Ange Postecoglou, view Semenyo as a perfect fit for their fast-paced system.
It’s reported that every top-six club except Arsenal has shown interest in the Ghanaian, who is under contract at Bournemouth until June 2029.
