45th in history. Al Ahly clinch their third consecutive Egyptian Premier League title

On Wednesday, May 28, the final round of the Egyptian Premier League’s championship group took place, determining this season’s winner.
Details: Two clubs were in contention for the gold medals — Al Ahly and Pyramids. There was a two-point gap in favor of the Cairo side. Pyramids thrashed Ceramica Cleopatra 5-1 in their match, but Al Ahly showed no mercy to their opponent either, demolishing Pharco 6-0.
As a result, Al Ahly secured their third straight Egyptian Premier League crown. What’s more, this marks the club’s 45th league title — an all-time record for the most championships in history.
Reminder: Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly are considering José Riveiro for the head coach position. Moreover, he could become the highest-paid manager on the entire African continent.
