Details: According to ESPN, 44 Hamburg supporters were injured during the festivities marking their promotion.
Following the final whistle in the match against Ulm (6-1), thousands of fans stormed the pitch from the stands. The sheer number of supporters led to a dangerous crush on the field.
As a result, one fan suffered severe injuries that could be life-threatening. Nineteen more sustained injuries of moderate severity.
The police have already launched an investigation into the incident.
