Porto’s underwhelming performance in the first half of the Primeira Liga and Europa League has led the club's management to make a coaching change.

Details: Martín Anselmi, a 39-year-old Argentinian, has been named the new head coach of Porto. His previous role was with Mexican club Cruz Azul.

Anselmi replaces Vítor Bruno, who had been in charge of the “Dragons” since the start of the season.

Before his time at Cruz Azul, the young Argentinian coach found success with Ecuadorian club Independiente del Valle.

After 19 rounds of the Primeira Liga, Porto sits in third place with 41 points. In the Europa League, the team is currently 25th with one match remaining, needing a win against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the final round to secure a playoff spot.

Reminder: Legendary Italian coach Roberto Mancini was previously mentioned as a candidate for the Porto job.
