LeBron James will continue his career with the Los Angeles Lakers. According to ESPN, the basketball star's agent Rich Paul has confirmed that the 40-year-old legend has exercised his player option and will remain with the team for another season—the 2025/26 campaign. The deal is valued at $52.6 million.
The NBA's all-time leading scorer remains focused on chasing another championship. James is set to play his record-breaking 23rd season in the league, and he is just 50 games away from surpassing Robert Parish for the most appearances in regular season history.
With a no-trade clause in his contract and his status as a league icon, LeBron is determined to make the most of the time he has left, while the Lakers' front office continues to search for the perfect balance between present ambitions and the team's long-term future.
