Leicester could soon enter a completely new era.

Details: According to insider Ben Jacobs, prospective bidders for Leicester City have been given until Monday, September 14 to submit their offers for the club. Leicester are priced at more than £200 million, which is roughly €234 million at the European Central Bank reference exchange rate for August 26.

There is an important financial detail surrounding the potential takeover. Jacobs stresses that the reported valuation does not factor in the debt that would be inherited by the new owners, meaning the headline price is not the only financial commitment attached to the club.

One of the parties currently involved in talks is a consortium led by businessman Neil Lal. His group has already been linked with an attempt to acquire Leicester and remains among the prospective bidders as the deadline for formal offers approaches.

No agreement has been completed at this stage. Interested groups still have until September 14 to make their offers, while Jacobs did not identify the other parties involved in negotiations or disclose the size of Leicester's inherited debt.

It is worth noting that Leicester produced one of the greatest shocks in English football history by winning the Premier League in the 2015/16 season, finishing ten points clear of Arsenal. Ten years later, the Foxes are competing in EFL League One in the 2026/27 campaign.
