Brahim Hemdani’s first squad as head coach of the Fennecs was announced on Thursday 17 September during a press conference at the Nelson Mandela Stadium.

The Algerian manager has selected 26 players for his first squad as head of the Fennecs’ coaching staff. Brahim Hemdani’s squad comprises 3 goalkeepers, 9 defenders, 6 midfielders and 8 forwards.

It is this squad that will kick off the race to qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. Algeria will begin their campaign at home against Zambia on 25 September at the Hocine-Aït-Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou. The Fennecs will then travel to Burundi on 29 September for their second qualifying fixture.

Brahim Hemdani’s side will also play an international friendly against Niger on 6 October at the Hocine-Aït-Ahmed Stadium in Tizi Ouzou.
