2027 AFCON Qualifiers: Sébastien Desabre has a plan to unsettle Equatorial Guinea

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is set to host Equatorial Guinea on Thursday 24 September for the opening match of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Leopards will kick off their campaign in front of their home crowd at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa. At a press conference ahead of the match, Sébastien Desabre spoke about the work his team has done in attack.

The DR Congo manager believes his players are making progress in their movement and organisation with the ball. Sébastien Desabre insists that his team has prepared a specific strategy to try and cause problems for the Equatorial Guinean side in Kinshasa.

“We’re trying to improve our attacking movements. We’re starting to be solid in terms of our principles and player rotation when we have the ball. We’re starting to be quite organised in this respect. We’ll have a plan to unsettle this Equatorial Guinea side.”

The DR Congo Leopards are aiming for a strong start to this qualifying campaign ahead of their trip to Zimbabwe to face the Warriors on matchday 2.
