2025 Ice Hockey World Championship: All quarterfinal matchups set

On Tuesday, May 20, six more games were played at the 2025 Ice Hockey World Championship. These encounters marked the end of the group stage, and as the final whistles blew, all playoff contenders were determined.
Details: Four teams advanced from Group A to the playoffs: Canada, Sweden, Finland, and the surprising Austria. Over in Group B, Switzerland, USA, Czechia, and Denmark secured their spots in the quarterfinals.
Immediately after these matches, the full slate of quarterfinal pairings was unveiled. The bracket is structured as follows: the Group A leader faces the fourth-placed team from Group B, the second-placed team plays the third, and so on.
