Hertfordshire Police have confirmed the arrest of a teenager suspected of sending threatening messages to Sofia Havertz, the wife of Arsenal footballer Kai Havertz, Daily Mail reports.

The 17-year-old from St Albans is believed to have sent disturbing messages to Sofia after her husband missed a penalty in the FA Cup shootout against Manchester United, which resulted in Arsenal being eliminated from the competition.

The suspect has been released on bail, and police investigations are ongoing.

Arsenal has also launched its own investigation, enlisting the help of Signify, a company specializing in digital data analysis, to identify the individual responsible for the abuse.

Sofia Havertz had received multiple vile messages from fans, some of which included threats to her unborn child. The couple announced Sofia’s pregnancy in November 2024.

The pair tied the knot in the summer of 2024 after being in a relationship for several years.
