The first leg of the Copa Libertadores quarter-final between Estudiantes and Corinthians will take place on 10 September. The Argentine side host the match on their own ground, where they are still unbeaten in this season's competition, while the visitors arrive after four consecutive defeats in the Brazilian league.
Estudiantes: much more dangerous at home
In the previous round, Estudiantes eliminated Universidad Católica. After a 1-1 home draw, the Argentines comfortably won the return leg in Santiago 3-0 thanks to a Guido Carrillo brace and a goal from Joaquín Correa.
Their domestic league results have been less consistent, with the team losing 1-0 to Vélez Sarsfield in the previous round. However, Estudiantes remain unbeaten at home in the Copa Libertadores, while in 12 home first legs in the competition's knockout stage they have recorded nine wins and three draws.
Corinthians: four consecutive defeats in Brazil
Corinthians are going through a difficult spell and have lost their last four league matches. In the previous round, Fernando Diniz's side suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Chapecoense, having previously lost to Santos, Coritiba and Cruzeiro.
