Switzerland won both matches 3-0: prediction for Switzerland — Slovenia
The third-round UEFA Nations League match between Switzerland and Slovenia will take place in Lucerne on October 3. The hosts made a perfect start to the tournament with two wins, while Slovenia have collected four points and remain the group leaders’ closest pursuers.
Switzerland: six goals and no goals conceded
Murata Yakin’s team began the tournament with two identical 3-0 victories — first over North Macedonia and then over Scotland. In the second match, Switzerland played with a man advantage for more than 80 minutes and confidently saw the game through to a convincing win.
Zeki Amdouni has been particularly prolific, scoring three goals across the opening two rounds. Switzerland are also without Granit Xhaka and Breel Embolo, but even their absence has yet to prevent the team from dominating the group.
Slovenia: four points and a solid defense
Slovenia opened with a goalless draw against Scotland before beating North Macedonia 2-0. Goals from Sandi Lovrić and Aljoša Matko secured Bostjan Cesar’s team their first win of the current campaign.
The visitors have also yet to concede a goal, but they will face a far more serious test in Lucerne. The absence of Benjamin Šeško remains an additional problem, so Žan Vipotnik is expected to lead the line once again.
Match facts and head-to-head record

The leaders can strengthen their grip on top spot: prediction for Switzerland — Slovenia
Slovenia have made a strong start to the tournament and look well organized defensively, but the level of opposition is now set to rise significantly. Switzerland performed confidently in the opening two rounds and, even without several experienced leaders, have shown impressive squad depth.
If Amdouni and Ndoye are given space in the final third again, the hosts should create enough chances to break down the Slovenian defense. Slovenia are capable of scoring, but over the course of the full match, Switzerland’s advantage looks more convincing.
