Havre vs PSG: prediction, head-to-head and probable lineups – 28 February 2026
One of the matches of Ligue 1's 24th round will take place this Saturday at the Océane Stadium in Le Havre, where the local side Havre hosts the league leaders, PSG. For the hosts, it’s a chance to measure their progress against a giant; for the Parisians, it’s an opportunity to maintain their lead at the top after a challenging stretch. Here’s my take on the outcome of this clash.
Match preview
Havre have been overachieving for more than a season now. Didier Digard’s team was once again tipped to be in the relegation dogfight, yet the northerners sit comfortably in 13th, maintaining a safe distance from the drop zone. At home, Havre have been especially impressive: their last four games at the Océane have seen wins over Toulouse, Strasbourg, and Angers (all 2-1), plus a draw against a resurgent Monaco.
However, their record against top clubs is less encouraging. Havre rarely spring surprises against the favorites: they’ve lost away to PSG, Marseille, Lyon, and Lens, while at home, Lens and Lille have both left with points. Adding to their woes, captain Arouna Sangante is suspended, Toure and Seko are injured, and Zagadu is a doubt — defensive depth is stretched thin, which could prove fatal against PSG’s attacking firepower.
PSG are going through a mixed spell. A 1-3 defeat to Rennes and tough Champions League ties against Monaco (3-2 and 2-2) have exposed defensive frailties and a degree of inconsistency. Even the 3-0 win over Metz didn’t fully mask the fact that Luis Enrique’s side is no longer the flawless machine it appeared to be last season.
Still, their squad quality is off the charts for Ligue 1. Ousmane Dembélé and Fabián Ruiz are out, and some rotation is likely, but even with experimental combinations featuring Kvaratskhelia, Barcola, and Doué, PSG can maintain a high tempo and relentless pressure. Head-to-head stats overwhelmingly favor the Parisians: Havre haven’t beaten PSG since the last century, and the capital club have won 11 of the last 12 encounters.
Probable lineups
- Havre: Diaw, Lloris, Pembélé, Doucouré, Zouaoui, Ebonog, Gourn-Douath, Nego, Ndiaye, Boufal, Soumaré.
- PSG: Safonov, Beraldo, Pacho, Hakimi, Hernandez, Vitinha, Neves, Fernandez, Kvaratskhelia, Barcola, Doué.
Match facts and head-to-head
- PSG have won 11 of their last 12 matches against Havre.
- Seven of the last nine head-to-head meetings have seen at least three goals scored.
- For the past 17 years, PSG have beaten Havre by at least a two-goal margin in almost every official match.
Prediction
Havre are traditionally strong at home and capable of putting up a disciplined, compact fight, but injuries and historical stats do little to inspire hope. PSG are far from perfect at the moment, but the gulf in class and squad depth is simply too much. Even with rotation, the visitors should control proceedings and make their superiority count.
