Eswatini vs Tanzania prediction, H2H and probable line-ups - 11 June 2025
Eswatini
Tanzania
One of the final round clashes in COSAFA Cup Group C will take place on Wednesday at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, where Eswatini will host Tanzania. I’m suggesting a bet on the outcome of this encounter with an attractive odds value.
Match preview
Eswatini approach the decisive match of the COSAFA Cup group stage knowing that only a win over Tanzania keeps their play-off hopes alive. The team already dropped points in their opening game against Madagascar, salvaging a draw thanks to a stunning free-kick from Andy Junior Magagula, but that wasn’t enough to secure a strong position.
History seems to be repeating itself for the “King’s Shield” as they haven’t progressed from the group stage since 2022 and once again find themselves on the brink of elimination. They need not only to win, but to do so with a solid goal margin to draw level on points with Madagascar and hope that goal difference works in their favour.
For Tanzania, the tournament is virtually over—the team lost their opening match to Madagascar and have no chance of reaching the play-offs. This is a continuation of a woeful streak: back in 2015, they also exited the competition without a single point or goal, and now history threatens to repeat itself.
Nevertheless, the “Taifa Stars” aren’t stepping onto the pitch for nothing: pride is at stake, and they’ll be hoping to finally break their winless run that’s lasted six matches. Tanzania were a late replacement for Morocco in this edition, and now they’ll be eager to prove that even as a stand-in, they can put up a fight.
Probable line-ups
- Eswatini: Sandanezwe, Manana, Dlamini, Gamedze, Twala, Silenge, Masangane, Matsebula, Matse, Figueiredo, Ndziniisa
- Tanzania: Manula, Kapomble, Dixon, Bacca, Husseini, Yahua, Miroshi, Salum, Mzize, Samatta, Msuva
Match facts and head-to-head
- The only meeting between these teams was in 2015—Eswatini won 1-0.
- If Eswatini win by the same scoreline, group progression will be decided by a draw.
- Tanzania have lost five of their last six matches, failing to score a single goal in the COSAFA Cup since 2015.
Prediction
Eswatini are playing with fire, but their tournament motivation and fighting spirit could be the decisive factor. Tanzania, even with nothing left to play for, are unlikely to be pushovers. However, the more cohesive and fired-up squad led by Zdravko Logarušić simply must take maximum points. Our tip: “Eswatini double chance” at odds of 1.60.
