Eintracht have already beaten Hamburg in the German Cup: Eintracht vs Hamburg prediction
On November 1, Eintracht Frankfurt will host Hamburg at Deutsche Bank Park in the eighth round of the German Bundesliga. The hosts sit 14th with eight points, just one point behind their opponents. The upcoming clash is particularly important for Adi Hütter's side: another defeat could send Frankfurt into the relegation zone.
Eintracht: a league crisis and hope for a home win
Adi Hütter's return to Frankfurt has yet to live up to the fans' expectations. Under his guidance, Eintracht have won just two of their seven Bundesliga matches. In the previous round, the team lost 0-1 to Borussia Dortmund, conceding the decisive goal in the 80th minute. Their lack of attacking output is particularly concerning: Frankfurt have scored just one goal in their last three league matches. The defence is also far from convincing, with 17 goals conceded — only two clubs have worse records.
Not long ago, Eintracht were competing for a place in the Champions League, finishing third in the 2024/25 season. Now, however, the team have collected just 28 points from their last 27 Bundesliga matches. Still, a 1-0 win over Köln ended a six-match home run without a victory, and on Tuesday Frankfurt defeated Hamburg 3-1 in the German Cup. Jonathan Burkardt scored and will once again be one of the main threats for the visitors. Among the injury concerns is Jessic Ngankam, who is close to returning.
Hamburg: away-day struggles and major attacking absences
Hamburg also come into the match on the back of two consecutive defeats. Merlin Polzin's side first lost 0-1 to Paderborn in the league before suffering a 1-3 defeat to Eintracht in the German Cup. The nature of the latest loss was particularly troubling, as Frankfurt consistently created dangerous chances close to goal. Nevertheless, before these setbacks Hamburg had won three matches in a row and collected nine points from a possible 12 in their last four Bundesliga fixtures.
The visitors' main problem is their away form. Hamburg have lost three of their four league matches on the road, failing to score in three of those games and conceding ten goals. Injuries have created further difficulties. Defender Nicolas Capaldo, midfielder Nicolai Remberg, and attacking players Fabio Vieira and Youssoufa Moukoko are all unavailable. The main attacking burden will fall on Terem Moffi, Martin Adeline and Albert Grønbæk.
Match facts and head-to-head record

- Hamburg have lost three of their four away league matches, conceding ten goals
- Eintracht have lost just one of their last 15 matches against Hamburg and recently beat them 3-1 in the German Cup
Will Eintracht repeat their cup success? Eintracht vs Hamburg prediction
Despite their inconsistent league form, Eintracht gained an important psychological advantage from their recent victory over the same opponents. Frankfurt exploited Hamburg's defensive weaknesses effectively and are capable of repeating that scenario at home.
The visitors have been highly unconvincing away from home, while the absences of Vieira and Moukoko significantly limit their attacking potential. Given Hamburg's personnel problems and the results of their recent head-to-head meetings, the hosts look like the favourites in this clash.
