However, under Frank Schmidt, they have dramatically dropped and are now in a dangerous zone, gaining fewer than one point per match.
In the Conference League, the Germans initially looked very strong. They defeated Häcken twice in the qualifiers and won against their early opponents like Olympija, Pafos, and Hearts. But then their form dipped: they lost to Chelsea and Istanbul, and drew with St. Gallen.
